Generally good place going east. This time on sunday afternoon with lot of full cars; so had to ask around longer than expected.
You can walk from Sud to Nord under A30 via a tunnel. From Hannover center take u-bahn 4 to Garbsen & bus 126 to Am Blaue See.
German cars with BI licenseplate will pass next gasstation Auetal.
Dutch cars with yellow plates might go straight to the Netherlands.

nice gas station! At the dressing there are tables where you can eat and relax and if you stop in the summer can even sleep! We were thrown here at about 6 pm and by night we could not find the car, although we went to ask almost everyone, although in the morning (from 6 to 7) we were found to Dyorthmund. Most cars went to Amsterdam, some to Belgium. This is a good spot because everyone goes somewhere far away from Hanover's license plates. Very big service area. Great place when heading to Berlin or Dortmund.
To get there from Hannover, take the U4 to Garbsen, then transfer to Bus no. 126 to the last station (WaldschÃ¤nke).
This takes approx. 30 Minutes from central station.

'rastanlage hannover-garbsen' is an excellent interchange between the autobahn linking germany from east to west "A2" and the north - south autobahn "A 7". i was hitchhiking from this spot to berlin in october 2009. you can change easy from one side of the autobahn to the other via a tunnel. there is plenty of drivers that can take you. this place is so good, WAI for a car that can take you the whole way through to berlin, poland, hamburg or wherever - don't just take the first one...
